The website of the Abegg Silk Museum in Garlate, a science and technology museum devoted to silk making: visits, family events and a section for schools and groups.
Stefano Beretta
I've been a web developer since 2009, specialising in Umbraco. I design, build and launch websites and applications made for the people who use them every day. Based in the province of Lecco, Italy, working with clients across Italy and abroad.
About
Hi, I'm Stefano. I've been writing code for the web since 2009, and I still enjoy it.
I spent over 15 years at the same company, growing along with it: today most of what we deliver goes through my hands in one way or another. That's where I learned to cover the whole chain, from visual identity to infrastructure, with development at the core.
Alongside my main job, I take on a few carefully chosen freelance projects. I like starting from a blank page: every choice, from design to database, has a reason, and I can stand behind the quality all the way.
My work is also my passion. It shows in the details.
Umbraco
I started with Umbraco 4 and followed it all the way to 18, through every major shift: from WebForms to MVC, from .NET Framework to modern .NET, up to the new Web Components backoffice. I've attended Codegarden, the official community conference, twice.
I choose it for its flexibility and extensibility: it doesn't force a project into a mould, it adapts to the project. For my clients that means one thing: a backoffice built around them, easy to use even for non-technical people.
Skills
Services
Built from scratch around your content, with a backoffice designed for the people who actually use it.
Fast, polished, search-engine friendly and easy to update.
.NET applications for what a CMS doesn't cover: bookings, tournaments, catalogues, internal workflows.
Logo and brand identity for your website or app, consistent from the first pixel.
Windows servers, IIS, certificates, DNS, backups: I put your project online and keep it healthy.
Repetitive procedures automated and in-depth data analysis, using artificial intelligence tools.
I also work white-label, as a technical partner on Umbraco and .NET projects.
Projects
01
The website of the Abegg Silk Museum in Garlate, a science and technology museum devoted to silk making: visits, family events and a section for schools and groups.
02
A web platform for running green volley and amateur volleyball tournaments: registrations, pools, court scheduling, brackets and live standings. Tested on tournaments of 208 teams.
03
A new project is in the works. You'll find it here as soon as it goes live.
Process
I get to know you, your needs and who will use the site every day.
I define structure, look and technology, starting from scratch.
I develop the site and a tailored backoffice, sharing progress along the way.
I set up server, domain and certificates, and show you how to use the backoffice.
I stay your point of contact for updates and new ideas.
I work remotely or on site, with companies, professionals and agencies, in Italian and English.
Off the clock
I've played volleyball for 32 years, up to Serie B: it taught me that results come from teamwork and consistency. When I'm not on court, I'm behind a drum kit as an amateur, because music is my other big passion. Timing, rhythm and precision: it's the same craft, really.
Contact
Tell me about your idea, even if it's just a sketch. I'll reply personally, usually within a couple of days.
